Wii Sports Review [PC]
Yeah, yeah. I know what you're all thinking: "Wii Sports isn't a PC game, you're really just a console fanboy!" I played on an emulator, so it's technically a PC game. Shut up.
Wii Sports is the launch game for the Wii in North America. In Europe it was FIFA '08 because Nintendo knew that soccer is the only sport played there. Smart move, Nintendo. Wii Sports was released in 2006 in the same box as the Wii and was published by Bethesda to get more Skyrim funds.
The game consists of seven mini-games, or sports: tennis, bowling, kung fu, baseball, golf, fencing, and boxing. Only one of them is actually worth your time, though. Most of them are just filler garbage.
Tennis mainly consists of two teams hitting a tennis ball back and forth until one of them misses it. This game is extremely boring with AI, as they hit it back almost every time. 6/10
Kung fu is one of my favorite modes in the game. It uses the Wii's revolutionary motion controls perfectly and adds a sense of flow to the gameplay. Some of the more challenging sensei are very difficult to beat, however. 8/10
Baseball is decent. You don't get to control your characters, so you only have to hit and pitch the ball, which is kinda dumb. It would be nice to have to shake the Wii remote to run faster or something. 5/10
Golf - I didn't even play this one. 0/10
Fencing is pretty fun. You can wave your Wiimote around and pretend it's a lightsaber. 7/10
Boxing seems like it would be fun, but the controls seem really unresponsive and hard to use. It mainly ends up being just random punches and frustration. 6/10
Now onto the one that you would buy this game for, the Wii sport to end all Wii sports. Bowling. Wii Sports bowling is probably the best bowling you can ever really have. You can choose the direction of your bowling ball, you can curve it, you can even throw it into another lane if you're skilled enough. You can do wicked trick shots, then it shows them in slow motion. One times I got four strikes in a row and I'm pretty sure it called it a "fourth" which is the dumbest f&&&&&g name ever, I gotta say.
Overall, you already have this game if you own a Wii, so yeah.
